I make my list, get out my coupon organizer and match up the coupons to the sales. Since our Publix doubles coupons with a face value up to $.50, I can get some really great buys when coupons match up to the buy one, get one free sales. Also, at least at this particular Publix, I don't have to buy two of the B1G1 free item; I can just buy one and get it at half price.
Finally, I go to Fiddledeedee's site and check her Publix coupon matchups to see if there's anything I've missed. Often she will show online printable coupons that I hadn't known about and those can add to my savings.
All this to say that I made a quick stop in Publix yesterday morning to pick up a few things for the weekend and get some of the best sale items. Pictured are the items I got. I spent $13.90 and saved $12.92. (I love how they put your savings at the bottom of the receipt. Obviously it's best when the savings exceed the spending, but I only hit that goal once in a while.)
My best deals were the Betty Crocker brownies [on sale for B1G1; bought one at $1.20, had a $.50 coupon that doubled, making the brownie mix $.20] and the Mueller pasta [on sale for B1G1; bought two at $1.29, had a $.55 off two coupon, making the pasta $.37 a box].
If you're wondering about the ice cream......no it wasn't a great sale item, but one of the girls wants to make an apple pie this weekend and you can't have apple pie without ice cream!
I'm going to do a bigger shopping trip on Monday to stock up on a few more things, including more grapes ($.99/lb) and some ground chuck ($1.99/lb).

Oh, to live in the land of coupon-doubling! Great job on your shopping, and thank you for linking to Fiddledeedee!
