I Asked

It wasn't what most would deem an important request.  It was one of the little things, brought to mind while I prayed, definitely a want, not a need.

He answered.  Not in the way I had expected, but in a way that surprised me.  Isn't our God amazing?  His thoughts and ways truly are above ours. 

It took a few minutes for me to realize what had happened, that the prayer offered up on Friday morning was actually granted that very night.  No mere coincidence, this; the Holy Spirit confirms in the hearts of believers God's answers to their prayers.

Now the blessing that was mine, to share with my husband and our children how the God of the universe heard and answered my request.

I'm afraid that most of the time my faith is not noteworthy, but small and timid.  Yet why should it be?  My Father God hears and answers prayers.

All because I ask.
