I'm a bit behind on posting my March reading, but here are the books I read last month. I'm enjoying reading books on my Kindle!
- Chasing Mona Lisa by Tricia Goyer and Mike Yorkey. This was an interesting fiction read set in Paris near the end of World War II.
- Taking Care of the Me in Mommy by Lisa Whelchel offered some helpful suggestions for growth in various areas of life.
- Letters of a Woman Homesteader by Elinore Pruitt Stewart. This is a collection of letters from a young widow who moved out West in the early 1900's.
- Men of the Bible by D.L. Moody. This book contained some great spiritual truths and is one I plan to read again.
- Parking Lot Rules and 75 Other Ideas for Raising Amazing Children by Tom Sturges. I didn't find much new in the parenting arena here.
- Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I had never read this classic, but found it very interesting!
- True Devotion by Dee Henderson. I'll admit to reading more fiction than usual this month! I enjoyed reading about Navy SEALS in this first in a series about uncommon heroes.
- Farm Fresh Southern Cooking by Tammy Algood. This cookbook offers recipes for turning farm fresh produce into tasty meals. I'll post a review on it later.
I'm reading Shepherding a Child's Heart. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThese sound like good books. I really enjoy Pride and Prejudice when I read it, and I've got a book by Dee Henderson on my "to read" list.
ReplyDeleteHow in the world do you find so much time to read?
Well, since I don't knit, crochet, or sew like some of my talented friends ;) reading is one of my favorite hobbies. Sometimes I'll find 15-20 minutes to read during the day - in the morning while the girls are doing independent school work, in the afternoon while they're playing by themselves, or after supper when they're taking baths/showers and getting ready for bed.
DeleteHowever, most of my reading is done at night, after the girls are in bed. We watch very little television - and often, even if it's on, I'll be reading unless there's something on that really interests me. I think I'm a pretty fast reader, too, so I guess that helps. :)
I've started another book by Jane Austen - Persuasion. Have you read that one?
Yes, I've read all of Austen's books, but I think my favorite is Pride and Prejudice, although I really enjoy Emma as well. Have you read Emma?
DeleteOh, and I wish I could read and crochet at the same time. I'm not so good at listening to books; I need to see what I'm reading because I'm so visual. And sometimes I have to go back and reread paragraphs when I miss something which you can't do for books on tape. Oh, well. And when I try to read with my little ones around, they bring me a book to read to them. How can I tell them no?
