When we're tempted to think that someone else has an easier life, a more loving husband, better-behaved children, an easier road financially, or a problem-free existence, we need to remember that God has put each of us into the place He has designed for us. None of us can see from our current vantage point what He is doing in the lives of others - or, many times, even in our own.
"For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." ~Philippians 2:13
This week may we each be content with where God has placed us and seek ways to bring honor and glory to Him in our own place of service.

I learned this lesson many years ago when I was still working full-time. Our department made some changes that had us working more evenings and weekends, and we resented the change. Some of us talked about finding different employment, but as one woman said, "Every place has it's own problems; at least, we know which ones this place has." That's so true! Even in our lives, at least we already know what problems we are dealing with; we have no idea (most of the time) what problems others are dealing with. I guess that's kind of the negative way to say what you said in your post. ;)
ReplyDeleteAMEN!!!! This was a hard lesson for me to accept, but it's gotten much easier over the years. :-)
