We're prioritizing giving thanks this month by listing ten simple ways that we can show thanks. Were you able to practice our first action of thanks by writing someone a thank you note?
The second idea on my list is closely related.
Verbally thank someone.
This is harder for me than writing a thank you note. In a note, I can plan out my exact words and not have the involvement of face-to-face interaction.
But today, let's verbally thank someone for what they do. Here are a few suggestions.
- When you pick your child up from school, thank the teacher for his/her work in the classroom.
- Thank the cashier at the grocery store or the waitress at the restaurant for her service.
- Take time to thank your child for something they did - obeying quickly, having good manners, helping a sibling, etc.
- Thank your husband for the work he does to support your family.
- Speak your appreciation to a co-worker for what they do on the job.
Do you have a person in mind to thank today?

I would rather write a thank you note, too! Although I didn't do it earlier when you suggested it.
ReplyDeleteI've been working on thanking John for things he does that are often overlooked and go unappreciated, like how he works so I can stay home, and he's really appreciating it! But it's hard, sometimes, to SAY thank you.
This is my love language: Words of Affirmation! :-D I'm all about it!!!
