All He Did For Us

As our thoughts turn to the celebration of our Lord's resurrection, let's take a moment to remember all He did for us through His crucifixion.

These are some of my favorite verses to think on during this season.  Surely no one ever loved and forgave like our Savior.

"And forthwith he [Judas] came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him."  ~Matthew 26:49-50 (emphasis added)

"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.  He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth."  ~Isaiah 53:5-7

"And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord...."  ~Luke 22:61

"And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.  And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise."  ~Luke 23:42-43 

"Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God."  ~Matthew 27:54

May this Easter weekend bring a renewed sense of gratitude for all that Jesus did for us and the power and glory evidenced in His resurrection that is ours to access through His Holy Spirit.
