Movie Time
We don't watch a lot of television at our house. However, since our girls were little, they've had "movie night" on Saturday nights. For years they would take turns each week choosing a movie and then sit down and watch it together. More recently, as their tastes have changed, we've allowed them to watch separate movies, though they still choose to watch together occasionally.
At other times, especially if my husband is traveling, we'll have a "girls night" with an early supper followed by the three of us watching a movie together. They enjoy my tuning in with them and sharing something they like.
Let's sit down with our daughters and watch one of their favorite movies together. It could be a half-hour cartoon or a longer movie. The important thing is that we as moms actually focus on our girls and simply enjoy spending this time with them. (If you can't fit this in today - as may be the case with us - you can do it tomorrow night!)
If you've missed earlier posts in this series, you can go to my 31 Days host page and catch up on all the ways we're showing love to our daughters in October!

I'm not a big kids movie person. (I kind of dread them. :-/) But Annelise & I *LOVELOVELOVE* watching "The Great British Baking Show" together on PBS!!! It may be our fave show EVER: it's smart, it teaches, it's competitive but sweet - not rude at all, and there's even something soothing about it. It's our FAVE girl time & inspires her to bake! http://www.pbs.org/food/features/great-british-baking-show-season-2-episodes/
ReplyDeleteI've never seen this show - thanks for including the link, I'm going to check it out!!
