Movie Night

Saturdays are "Movie Night" at our house.  Our daughters don't typically watch television, but on Saturday night, they get ready for bed early in the evening and settle in to watch a video or DVD.  Here are some of their current favorites.

1. The Adventures of Spin and Marty 

I was introduced to these when my brother brought them along for his boys to watch on our annual extended-family vacation in Tennessee.  Our girls enjoyed them so much that we bought them the set as a Christmas gift.  My mom remembers watching these episodes when she was a little girl!

2.  Leave It to Beaver - The Complete Second Season

These are the television shows I remember from my childhood and I still like watching them with the girls.  I prefer the first few seasons over the later ones.

3.  Mandie and the Cherokee Treasure and Mandie and the Secret Tunnel



We found these after my twelve-year-old read several of the books in the Mandie series.

4.  The Sugar Creek Gang - 5 Disc Set

These are also based on a book series, The Sugar Creek Gang.  We bought two of these and check two of them out at the library.  We hope to add the fifth one to our collection soon.

5.  Liberty's Kids: Complete Series

I haven't bought these yet (and if you look at the price you'll see why), but we check them out of the library quite frequently.  Even though they're animated, my girls still like watching them.

6.  Mr. Magoo:  The Complete Collection

My parents own this set and our girls look forward to watching it every time we visit!
