Speaking "Unadvisedly"

In talking about Moses and his dealing with the children of Israel, Psalms 106:33 says, "Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips."

I am often convicted by that verse. There are times when I allow a person or a situation to provoke my spirit and then I say things that I shouldn't. Rather than responding in a proper fashion, I react wrongly and others around me can witness that. Unfortunately, sometimes it seems that this happens most frequently with those I am the closest to - my husband and children.

I must allow Christ to take control of my spirit so that I can be more like the Proverbs 31 woman who "openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness." (Proverbs 31:26)

  1. Your post just convicted me, and I tend to "speak unadvisedly" to my children and husband the most. *Sigh* Thank God that He is making me into something better.
