As we near the end of Proverbs 31, we begin to see some of the rewards that come to the virtuous woman. Verse twenty-eight tells us the following: "Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her."The Virtuous Woman is Honored.
Having studied all that this lady does for her family, it is surely gratifying to know that they recognize her character and dedication. What more reward could a woman want than that her family be blessed by what she does! As a wife and mother, our greatest ministry is to those who share our home and to be successful there will ultimately bring us joy and satisfaction.
While I doubt that your two-year-old (or your thirteen-year-old!) will sing your praises on a daily basis, we can certainly hope that when she's grown, she will recognize the investment you have made in her life. As a mom, my goal is that my daughters will be able to look back and thank God for me and for the influence I've had in their lives. As a wife, I want to minister to my husband by meeting his needs and submitting to his leadership.
Today may I live in such a way that my husband and children can easily and honestly find something in my conduct to praise.
