An Untroubled Heart
"Let not your heart be troubled."
As John 14 begins, we see Jesus talking with His disciples. They have finished what we call "The Last Supper," and Christ is telling these dear followers some of what is to come. The men are confused, seeking to understand. He comforts them with words that so many of us need to heed: "Let not your heart be troubled."
How easy it is to be troubled. From physical suffering to spiritual temptation, difficult circumstances to discouragement, we become bewildered over the trials that come into our lives. But as we lift our eyes and focus on the One Who walks beside and lives within us, we can have peace.
So whatever struggles we may be facing today, we can take them to the Lord, leave them there, and receive from His hand an untroubled heart.
Yes - such true and comforting words!! Isn't it wonderful the peace that His love offers?!
ReplyDeleteWhat a comfort! The world is so full of troubles - so easy to be weighed down with them. I'm so thankful for His peace.
