She amazes me. Just when I think I have her all figured out, she does something totally unexpected.
This daughter who dislikes talking about the physical body, dreads studying health, and avoids pain at any cost, pulled out her own loose tooth yesterday....calmly.
I was checking to see if she was done with her school work when I found her sitting in the bathroom, rinsing off a bloody tooth. She looked up at me with a big smile and told me very nonchalantly how she pulled it out.
I like this independent spirit, this taking care of herself. But I'm also happy that, when she wakes up this morning, she'll still check under her pillow to see if the tooth fairy paid her a visit.
I hope my girl pulls her teeth (calmly) in the bathroom when I'm not looking, otherwise someone will have to clean ME up! Guess I should pad corners and cushion the floor, just to be safe.
ReplyDeleteWell, my husband has this thing about kids' loose teeth, too; he can't stand it when the girls even wiggle their loose teeth in front of him!

It happens so fast. One minute they're a little girl - the next they're grown up. Enjoy the adventure!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I get the loose-tooth-ickies, too! Ewww! And both of mine have no problems pulling theirs out...but I think God gifted them with that calm as a gift to me, so I wouldn't have to deal! :-D

Good for her! I hate a wiggly tooth, too. We should start a sisterhood, lol! But you didn't say...did she find something under her pillow?? :)
ReplyDeleteYes, she did! The tooth fairy occasionally has "senior moments" and has been known to pay up in person :) but this time, a note I left myself on the pillow did the trick. How sad is that?!!
