Saturday Salutes
With the changing of the seasons, you may find Ruth's advice for organizing your clothes in The 40 Hanger Closet to be helpful. If you need to add pieces to your family's wardrobe, check out 20 Ways Thrifty People Save Money on Clothing.
(The rest of this unexpectedly turned into a food-themed Saturday Salutes....)
I was trying to replicate a recipe my mom made when we were at my parents' house last week. I tried this Fried Onion Topped Macaroni and Cheese and it is definitely a keeper!
My older daughter had her "Chopped"-style baking competition in her homeschool cooking class on Thursday. She made these Peanut Butter-Chocolate Chip Muffins and they turned out very well.
In that same flavor family, I pinned this Buckeye Peanut Butter Fudge Cake that I think might be my choice for my birthday cake this year!
Don't forget to enter my giveaway for 3 children's books from Zonderkidz.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
When's your birthday? Because I'm coming over for a piece of that cake! The cake I'm planning to make for my birthday is similar, but instead of the peanut butter layer, it has a peppermint layer. And it is even topped with ganache!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the first link about the 40 Hanger Closet, although I probably won't do that. And I printed out the muffin recipe. Yum! Is it only good for snacks? Won't it do for breakfast, as well? What do you think?
My birthday is April 7th; when is yours? Seems like I should know that from before....
DeleteThe muffins would be great for breakfast, too, I think. I had one while they were still warm and the chocolate chips were all melty - yum!!
I have a weakness for muffins. I also made these muffins earlier this week - http://www.delish-blog.com/2010/04/glazed-mini-lemon-poppy-seed-muffins/print/ - though I made them regular size instead of mini. I really liked them, too!
Isn't that funny?! My birthday is the 14th!
DeleteI may give those muffins a try for breakfast this week; I'm always looking for a good muffin recipe. And I will certainly check out the lemon poppy seed muffins you recommend, too. Thanks!
I LOOOOOOOOOVE the idea of a "Chopped"-style baking competition!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Thanks for the link on Goodwill - she had a lot of great tips!
