10 Simple Ways to Show Thanks: Sing It

This November, we're focusing on simple ways that we can show thanks all month long.

Now that we've written and spoken our thanks, let's express it in song!

Sing a song of thanksgiving.

Here are a few song suggestions.

  • Count Your Blessings
  • Come, Ye Thankful People, Come
  • Now Thank We All Our God
  • For the Beauty of the Earth
  • To God Be the Glory

You may want to sing alone (even silently :) or with the family.  Maybe you have a playlist or cd that highlights these type of songs that you could listen to throughout the day.

There are also children's songs and choruses you could sing with your kids.

  • Praise Him, Praise Him, All Ye Little Children
  • Thank You, Lord
  • I Will Sing of the Mercies of the Lord Forever
  • Father, We Thank Thee

I enjoy reading a hymn during my devotions each morning, so I'm planning to read some of the hymns I've listed above throughout the week.

What's your favorite song of praise or thanksgiving?

  1. I enjoy reading hymns during my daily devotional, too; right now, I'm reading through Then Sings my Soul Book 2, and I love reading some of the history behind these hymns. Have you read one of these books?

    1. No, I haven't read one of those books, but I'll have to check them out. I finished my first Lynn Austin book and it was very good!

    2. I'm glad you enjoyed it! It sounds like a good one; I'll have to add it to my reading list.

You should check out these books, too. On one page is the hymn, and the opposite page has a short history. It makes a great complement to reading Scripture.
